If you are on an SDL software maintenance contract, are an SDL LSP Partner, or you purchased SDL Trados 2007 after 1st September 2008, then you automatically receive a free upgrade to SDL Trados 2007 Suite! If this applies to you, then your SDL Trados 2007 Suite license can be accessed from the "My Downloads" area of your SDL account. 

What is automated translation?
Automated translation is translation carried out automatically in an instant, without input from a translator. These tools are extremely fast and powerful, however cannot fully understand the subtleties of language.

The new automated translation (beta) capability integrated into SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional brings real-time leveraging from the extensive SDL automated translation server directly to your desktop. You can now enjoy the powerful combination of automated translation and SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional to reduce costs and complete your projects faster than ever before! 

The following language pairs are currently supported 2-way by SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional: English-Dutch/Dutch-English, English-German/German-English, English-French/French-English, English-Italian/Italian-English, English-Portuguese/Portuguese-English, English-Spanish/Spanish-English. In addition, the following languages are supported 1-way: English-Chinese (PRC), English-Chinese (Taiwan), English-Norwegian.

What is visual software user interface translation?
Visual software user interface translation (also known as software localization) is the translation and adaptation of software, or a web product, and all of its related documentation, such as icons, strings and menus.

SDL Passolo Essential, now included in SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional, is a specialized tool to help you translate all the elements involved in a software graphic user interface. Benefit from proven SDL Passolo technology to increase your translation possibilities and accelerate projects involving software graphic user interfaces.

What are the system requirements for SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional?
SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional runs on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server. Windows Vista or Windows XP is recommended for optimum performance.

PC with Pentium III or compatible processor (Pentium IV or higher recommended).
512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended) on Windows 2000/Windows XP Home/Windows XP Professional/Windows Vista. 

Currently, 64-bit operating systems such as Windows Vista 64-bit are not supported by SDL Trados products.
